UBBIM delivers ESG & GHG workshop for ACPM
UBBIM delivered ACPM’s first 2026 Workshop Series programme — ESG & GHG Introduction for Project Managers — for the Association of Construction Project Managers Malaysia, taking 30 project managers from ESG fundamentals to site-level carbon tracking.
Designed for project managers with zero to intermediate ESG knowledge, the full-day workshop combined structured learning, discussion, and live system demonstrations so participants could see how ESG and greenhouse-gas requirements become real project controls.
The workshop opened with welcoming remarks by PMr Sr Dr Wan Maimun Wan Abdullah, President of ACPM, and closed with remarks by PMr Ruslan Affendy Arshad, Deputy President of ACPM. Dr Shanmuga Kittappa delivered the technical foundation across Sessions 1 to 3 — ESG fundamentals on construction projects, the relationship between ESG, the SDGs, and greenhouse-gas emissions, and GHG Protocol basics, scopes, and carbon calculation. Dr Siti Norbaizura then walked through Malaysia’s green certification landscape and how site practice can align with those frameworks.
UBBIM Executive Director Edwin Jesu Dass closed the technical programme with a live ESG tracking software demonstration, showing how project-level data translates into ESG scores, carbon metrics, and framework-aligned outputs in a practical, PM-friendly way. All participants received a 14-day free trial of the software so they could continue ESG logging, scoring, and reporting on their own projects.
The session marked the first ACPM Workshop Series of 2026 and is part of how UBBIM supports ACPM in building practical ESG capability across Malaysia’s construction project-management profession.
